| A fast track at Central Arizona Raceway ends with a 6th place. |
After a fourth place finish the previous weekend Alex had good
feelings for the first point’s race at Central Arizona Raceway. Alex
was by far the fastest in hot laps, but had to start last in the second
heat race. When she went out on to the track for the heat race that
the car wanted to turn right, the right front brake caliper was locked
up. Alex stayed on the track to see if she could finish the race, well
she did more than just finish. She worked her way up to third and was
reeling in last year's C.A.R Champion Jody Henderson.
The pit crew had to cut off the 40s cars brake line off in order for
Alex to race the main event. She had the starting position of fourth
row outside. Her car was slow on the starts, which meant she had to
keep the momentum up in the car to be fast. She was batting for 5th
place the whole race, side by side, he had the line but she was
faster. The last lap Alex went for fifth, she passed him coming out of
four but the 4 car cut Alex out and cut her tire.
